Steadings Rise, Mere (1997)

The exclusive development of Steadings Rise which lies between Mere and the town of Knutsford offers a truly unique quality of life interwoven with a rich tapestry of Cheshire heritage.

Steadings Rise is entered through an imposing gateway flanked by stone horses on each pillar. Once within, an elegant paved courtyard is revealed, the central feature of which is a beautiful stone planter highlighted by an all-year display of plants and flowers.

Overlooking this idyllic scene are seven outstanding architect designed homes, every one uniquely different and each with its own spacious gardens. The boundaries of the development and those of each property are delineated by high brick walls, timber fencing or hedges, to provide security and privacy where necessary, and a contrasting blend of subtle soft landscaping.

Constructed to the very highest specifications, we built Steadings Rise using proven designs and materials that most people still feel comfortable with. We have gone to great lengths to procure these materials, travelling the country extensively to obtain sufficient quantities in premium condition.

The handmade bricks were found just outside Holmes Chapel where an entire de-commissioned hospital was purchased. These were then laid to traditional English garden bond providing an authentic period construction. The blue/grey British slates - regarded as the doyen of roof coverings worldwide - were located in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, where they were taken from an old woollen mill.

Quality without compromise and unceasing attention to every smallest detail are the hallmarks of Steadings Rise.
